Experience the Best Beaches on the Costa del Azahar

Whether you’re looking for family-friendly beaches, peaceful bays or breathtaking coastal scenery, Alcossebre has a beach for every moment of your holiday.

Playa Cala Blanca

Leaving the Carrer de la Penya Ventosa, where villa Cala Blanca and Villa Tranquila are located, direction ocean, and turning to the left, toward the entrance of the natural reserve Sierra d’Irta, will lead you to the small beach (sand and pebbles) called “Cala Blanca”. This small beach is mostly not crowded and very relaxing for adults and kids. If you choose to leave the beach as it is, you can continue walking to the light house of Alcossebre or explore the nature of the Sierra d’Irta.

Platges de Ribamar

Near the lighthouse, the Sierra de Irta nature reserve characterises the landscape of the northern coast which is also wild, rugged and solitary. Rural tracks lead down to the sea where immense rocky areas alternate with tiny inlets of transparent water: a paradise for diving enthusiasts and a sharp contrast with the busy, sandy beaches. Children love to look for seashells and the more adventurous will find places to jump off the rocks into the water (under adult supervision).

Playa de las Fuentes

Situated in Las Fuentes Urbanisation, next to the port marina. Facilities include during the summer season deckchairs and parasols, showers, duckboarding, Red Cross watch, pedalo rentals, a playground, a bar and basketball courts. A unique geological feature takes place in Las Fuentes beach, where fresh water pours out of its sand. Children love this beach as they like to build dams in the small rivers flowing from the springs. The parents enjoy it too as there is a bar/bistro on the beach! It is within walking distance from the villas.

Playa del Carregador and Playa Romana

Located along the center of Alcossebre, these are the widest sand beaches in the area. Facilities include a Red Cross watch service, showers, duckboarding, children’s recreational area, sun shades, pedalo rental and volleyball nets. Beaches adapted to people with reduced mobility. Both beaches are abundant in vegetation, giving them a beautiful background.

Tres Playas

Consisting of three small coves of fine white sand, enclosed in a rocky contour which visually isolates them from its surroundings. These small beaches are
perfect for a private spot away from the crowds. A small sandy beach is present
which is just large enough to enter the sea for a swim, without hurting your feet. This bay is marvellous for snorkelling, as there is a rock reef in which you can admire many fish. If you take a small plastic bag with some food (e.g., cooked corn) you may be able to attract a school of dorados, which will fight for these delicatessens. From Tres Playas you can walk over nicely structured tiled/wooden walkways for 2.5 km to Alcossebre … and beyond (walkway is about 7 km long)!
